In today’s global world, designers work across a range of boundaries—language barriers, cultural differences, and geography all contribute to challenging juxtapositions and complexities in solving design problems. The Global Hybrid is an typographic exploration of how letterforms might continue to influence each other, as communicating to international audiences becomes increasingly important. The narrative is paired with materials for a conceptual conference, Taip fyü-zhen :/typefu·sion/, a name inspired by the International Pronunciation Alphabet (IPA) and that brings designers together to discuss the effects of globalization on design.
